California School Employees Back Dave Min

IRVINE, CA — Dave Min received another significant endorsement in his race for Congress in CA-47, announcing the backing of the powerful California School Employees Association. This endorsement continues to solidify the excitement around State Senator Dave Min’s campaign to succeed Katie Porter, as he has already received early backing from Congresswoman Porter, the California Democratic Party, the Orange County Labor Federation, SEIU, CFT, and AFT. Min is the consensus candidate of Labor, as every single Orange County labor organization that has weighed in in this race has backed him.

“Dave Min has had our back in the State Senate and we know he’ll fight for our values in Congress,” said California School Employees Association President Adam Weinberger. “We trust Senator Min to advocate for the needs of working families in Washington for years to come. We are proud to offer Dave Min our support.”

CSEA is the largest school employees association in the country. They represent nearly 250,000 support staff across the state. Formed in 1927, CSEA has fought for the rights of working Californians for nearly a century, and represents the interests of custodians, security staff, food services, office and clerical work, school maintenance and operations, transportation, academic assistance and paraeducator services, library and media assistance, computer services and more. Min is endorsed by the statewide union which oversees 800 locals across California.

Dave Min is the proud product of California’s public education system, and is the only candidate in this race to send his children to public school.

After impressive fundraising hauls in the first three quarters of this year, Dave Min has consolidated support and has become the clear Democratic consensus candidate to succeed Katie Porter. In addition to the Democratic Party’s endorsement, he is also supported by Congresswoman Porter and a broad and diverse coalition of over 150 local, state, and federal leaders. He enjoys broad grassroots support, with over 1000 volunteers signed up to knock on doors for his campaign (many of whom have volunteered with Min’s prior campaigns), and is the candidate of Labor, with the official endorsement of the AFL-CIO’s Orange County Labor Federation, and early endorsements from Teachers, School Employees, Police Officers, SEIU, and many others.
