Armenian-American Democrats Back Dave Min

IRVINE, CA — Dave Min added another major endorsement to his impressive collection, heading into the Democratic Party’s convention on November 16-18. Following recent endorsements from gun safety advocates and key labor groups, not to mention an overwhelming 70%+ vote from the party activists to give Senator Min the Dem Party’s endorsement, the Southern California Armenian Democrats (SCAD) announced its support of Min’s campaign for Congress. Min’s tenure in the State Senate has been marked by his commitment to confronting prejudice and hate of all kinds, and standing up for marginalized communities.

“Southern California Armenian Democrats are proud to endorse Senator Dave Min for Congress in CA-47,” said Dr. Kev Abazajian, SCAD's OC Director and Chapter President. “Senator Min has been an ally and a vocal advocate for the Armenian-American community, speaking out on our behalf and standing proudly against hate of all kinds. His seasoned campaigning and legislative acumen make him the strongest candidate for keeping this seat blue. We eagerly look forward to strengthening our relationship with him in Washington.”

Southern California Armenian Democrats is the first and the largest regional Armenian-American Democratic Club, in both the US and California. Per SCAD, their goals are to represent the collective Armenian-American viewpoint on matters and policies of the Democratic Party, increase and strengthen the number of Armenian-American Democrats, influence and guide California State policy on matters of interest to the Armenian-American community, promote the election of Armenian-American Democrats to political offices, and maintain the viability of our free institutions.

After impressive fundraising hauls in the first three quarters of this year, Dave Min has consolidated support and become the clear Democratic consensus candidate to succeed Katie Porter. In addition to having endorsements from Congresswoman Porter– the most important endorsement in this race– as well as the Democratic Party, Dave boasts an impressive and diverse coalition of over 150 local, state, and federal leaders. Dave is also the unanimous choice of Labor, with the official endorsement of the AFL-CIO’s Orange County Labor Federation, and early endorsements from Teachers, Health Care Workers, Police Officers, SEIU, and many others.
