Communications Workers Endorse Dave Min
IRVINE, CA — Today, the Communications Workers of American Local 9510 announced their endorsement of Dave Min for US Congress in California’s 47th Congressional District. The announcement follows the Orange County Labor Federation’s recommendation of Dave Min for endorsement by the state federation. CWA joins statewide labor organizations–the Service Employees International Union and the California Federation of Teachers–as well as an impressive cohort of locals and councils, including Teamsters Joint Council 42, IBEW locals 47 and 441, LAPPL, and IUPAT District Council 36, in endorsing California State Senator Dave Min. Dave Min has a strong record of advocating on behalf of municipal and county employees, and has emerged as the clear candidate of choice for Orange County’s working families.
“The men and women of CWA Local 9510 are proud to follow the recommendation of our counterparts at the Orange County Labor Federation in endorsing Dave Min for Congress,” said Kenny Williams, President of OCLF & Peter O'Brien, President of CWA 9510. "Dave Min has spent his career advocating for working families, and we know he’ll continue to fight for us in Congress. He is also the only elected official in this race, and the only pro-labor candidate who has articulated a clear and convincing pathway to victory. We are confident he will win this seat and be our champion in Washington, DC.”
CWA local 9510 has been active in Orange County for over 30 years, and represents workers at AT&T, AT&T Mobility, Avaya, Evoque, Frontier, Legacy T, SAUSD Substitute Teachers and Verizon.
“I’m truly honored to receive the endorsement of the Communications Workers of America Local 9510. Their support, along with the Orange County Labor Federation's recommendation, further strengthens our labor coalition. Together, we stand for the hardworking men and women of Orange County, and I'm committed to being their champion in Congress,” said Dave Min. “I’m the only candidate with a clear pro-labor agenda and a proven pathway to victory. With the backing of CWA 9510, we're building a movement for the working families of CA-47, and we're ready to win this seat and make a real impact in Washington."
After impressive fundraising hauls in the first three quarters of this year, Dave Min continues to set the pace for Katie Porter’s open Congressional seat by adding to his political coalition with consolidated support from local, state, and national endorsers. Additionally, Min entered the race with support from current CA-47 Representative, Katie Porter, the first Democrat to win the congressional seat in its history. In recent months, Min has announced the endorsements of California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Attorney General Rob Bonta, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Insurance Commissioner Ricard Lara, Superintendent of Public Schools Tony Thurmond, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus’s political leadership ASPIRE PAC, more than 60 local Orange County government officials, and more than 60 state legislators.
