LEAKED AUDIO — SCOTT BAUGH CONDONES BEATING CHILDREN

IRVINE, CA — In yet another strange turn of events, Republican nominee for CA-47 Scott Baugh recently advocated for the use of corporal punishment — comparing physical punishment inflicted on children who misbehave as an example of what should be done to convicts. Baugh made the comments at the end of August at the Laguna Beach GOP Annual Membership Meeting.

While discussing Proposition 47, and Democrats’ supposed coddling of criminals, Baugh makes a bizarre analogy between parents and government. “What happens when your children misbehave?” he asks the crowd. “You whip ‘em!”

These comments are the latest in a string of remarks endorsing, or at least refusing to condemn, violence in the household. The LA Times and Orange County Register is reported that comments VP Nominee JD Vance made, about women staying in violent marriages, were made at an event at Pacific Christian, a charter school founded by CA-47’s Republican nominee Scott Baugh – who refused to address Vance’s disgusting comments.

A spokesperson for the school described the evening as “wonderful,” and that Vance and his comments were “well-received,” while Baugh refused to condemn Vance’s harmful insinuation or explain if he still supported the Vice Presidential pick in light of recent developments.

State Senator Dave Min, who is the Democratic candidate running against Scott Baugh, had much more direct commentary. “Scott Baugh’s comments mainstreaming the physical abuse of children are despicable, and reflect his extreme views which place him squarely in the Trump/Vance MAGA wing of the Republican Party,” said Senator Min. “These radical views are out of step with the values of Orange County and they are dangerous to our families.”

Baugh’s recent remarks surrounding corporal punishment  are just one more proof point showing an obvious trend: Scott Baugh has little to no concern for the health and safety of Orange County’s women and families. His emphatic support of the Trump / Vance ticket is out of step with voters in Orange County.
