Equality California Endorses Dave Min for State Senate District 37

Equality California the largest LGBTQ civil rights organization in the nation – representing 800,000 members – endorses Dave Min for State Senate

IRVINE РToday, Equality California announced their endorsement of Dave Min for State Senate District 37.  For over 20 years, Equality California has led the state’s fight for LGBTQ civil rights and social justice.  They are the nation’s largest LGBTQ civil rights organization, with 800,000 members, and are the only LGBTQ civil rights organization in California to work at the local, state, and federal level.  Rick Zbur, Executive Director of Equality California, released the following statement:

Since launching his campaign in early January, Dave Min has built an incredible amount of momentum. He recently won the California Democratic Party’s pre-endorsing conference with 61% of the vote, with the next closest candidate receiving 29%. With over 1500 volunteers and over 1000 individual donors, the Dave Min for State Senate campaign is the clear choice of local residents, as reflected in recent polling that showed Min in a strong position to advance out of the primary election and up by 9% against the Republican incumbent, State Senator John Moorlach (R-Costa Mesa). David Min is a University of California Irvine Law Professor, father of three, and a former economic policy staffer in the United States Senate and for the Center for American Progress. Min began his legal career at the Securities and Exchange Commission to protect the retirement security of seniors, turning down high paying jobs to serve the public interest.  He is a leading expert on banking and housing policy.

California State Senate District 37 is located in Orange County and includes the communities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Foothill Ranch, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, Orange, Tustin, and Villa Park.
