RELEASE: California Democratic Party Secretary Jenny Bach Endorses Dave Min (SD37) For State Senate 

¬†Irvine, Calif. ‚ÄĒ TODAY,¬†Dave Min, UC Irvine professor and candidate for California’s 37th State Senate District, announced his endorsement by California Democratic Party Secretary Jenny Bach. As Secretary, Bach works to create transparency about how the CDP operates and acts as an advocate and resource for all CDP members. Her endorsement comes on the heels of several high-profile endorsements – including Representatives Ted Lieu, Alan Lowenthal,¬†and Judy Chu – as well as the campaign’s announcement that it had raised its first $100,000 in less than one month.

“Armed with years of policy experience and a fierce dedication to the diverse Orange County community he calls home, Dave Min has the unique skill set needed to keep SD37 moving in the right direction,”¬†said Bach.¬†“Dave knows our state can and will lead on important issues like economic development, access to affordable housing and healthcare, and protecting our communities from the effects of climate change – and I am thrilled to support his candidacy.”¬†

Bach, who previously served as District Representative in State Senator Dr. Richard Pan’s office and as a staffer with the California Asian & Pacific Islander (API) Legislative Caucus, went on to become one of the youngest statewide officials ever to hold an executive board office following her election this past November.

Bach’s endorsement adds to a broad coalition of support for Min’s State Senate run. Since announcing his candidacy on January 8th, Min has been endorsed by a number of elected officials and organizations, including: Representatives Ted Lieu, Alan Lowenthal, Judy Chu; the Newport-Mesa Local American Federation of Teachers 1794, Rep. Scott Peters; California Democratic Party Environmental Caucus Chair RL Miller; Aliso Viejo City Councilwoman Tiffany Ackley; Former Irvine City Councilwoman Mary Ann Gaido; Aliso Viejo Mayor Ross Chun; and Former Irvine Mayor Sukhee Kang.

David Min is a University of California Irvine Law Professor, father of three, and a former economic policy staffer in the United States Senate and for the Center for American Progress. Min began his legal career at the Securities and Exchange Commission to protect the retirement security of seniors, turning down high paying jobs to serve the public interest.  He is a leading expert on banking and housing policy.

California State Senate District 37 is located in Orange County and includes the communities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Foothill Ranch, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, Orange, Tustin, and Villa Park.
