California Environmental Voters Endorses Dave Min

IRVINE, CA —California Environmental Voters, perhaps the leading environmental advocacy organization in the state,  endorsed Dave Min today, recognizing his leadership and advocacy for bold climate action and record of stepping up for our planet and spurring a green energy transition. California EnviroVoters is an educational organization which focuses on environmental issues affecting California and an affiliate of the national League of Conservation Voters. The announcement comes on the heels of the Los Angeles Times editorial board’s endorsement of Min’s campaign earlier this week.

"Dave Min is the clear environmental choice in this race," said Mike Young, Political & Organizing Director. "He has not only been a good vote but has worked relentlessly to pass strong legislation to ensure that our children inherit a livable world. Whether it's accelerating our transition to clean energy, preserving our biodiversity and open spaces, or ending offshore oil and gas drilling, Dave has been a champion for our issues in the State Senate, and we know he will continue to be a leader in Congress in these areas. We're excited to continue our work with Dave in the US House of Representatives."

CA EnviroVoters’ stated mission is to protect California's environmental quality by increasing public awareness of the environmental performance of all elected officials, working to elect environmentally responsible candidates, and holding them accountable to the environmental agenda once elected.

This endorsement builds on Senator Min’s incredible momentum in his campaign to keep this seat Blue. Earlier this week, Min received the coveted endorsement of the Los Angeles Times. He is also endorsed by outgoing Rep. Katie Porter, as well as the California Democratic Party, Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, and over 150 local, state, and federal officials. Min is the unanimous choice of organized labor in this race, as he is the only candidate to receive support from national, statewide, and local unions, and received the backing of the California Labor Federation. California’s 47th is an open Congressional District in Orange County that includes the Cities of Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Newport Beach, and Seal Beach, and portions of Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, and Laguna Woods. Incumbent Katie Porter is vacating the seat to run for U.S. Senate. In 2022, Porter defeated former Assemblymember Republican Scott Baugh by 3.44% in this “toss-up” district. State Senator Dave Min currently represents over 80% of Congressional District 47 in Sacramento. In 2020, Min received over 158,000 votes within CA-47, defeating incumbent John Moorlach by 5.15% in this area. 19% of the registered voters in CA-47 are of Asian and Pacific Islander descent, including one of the largest Korean-American populations in the country.
